Journal

What started as a non-school project, ended up as a true goal hoping to achieve. Douglas Elemex is on it's way to make it to the top, with it's unique multi-creative contents and services. Of course, we'd love to share you our story, starting from August 2006.
2006
The website wasn't even DONE yet when I bought this domain, although I was busy. Even though I had some friends around me, most of the motivation had to come from myself. Back then, DE would only be aimed towards original manga. Personally at first, I didn't mind it at all, but later on, I started to feel like there was room for more than just manga alone. Along with the rest, I was very busy sketching characters and developing manga stories.
All seemed to go well, un till conflicts and rumors broke the team, sadly. However, not long after this, I found out that there was still someone else I was sure to work along with; and that's my dear buddy Victor (of better known as Viper). He was a manga drawer as well, but was open for more than just staying in one position. But the best thing of all, is that we've both graduated in the same Jr. high, and of course, sharing the same big mind.
With the break up of the previous team, I decided to make some new changes in DE, changing some systems and plan some new features and aims to fit DE.
2007
This year was quite a mellow year for DE, but honestly nothing much really. Viper and I were doing some long but valuable thinking and planning on how we could handle things the best way, and of course, what we could all do to bring DE to the top! We've did many attempts to make the website open and fully functional for visitors, but so many issues came by: Doubts on where it was all good or not, technical issues, and delay's on comics. This year i've learned that it's also not the best idea to add to much pressure to yourself, and to take actions step by step.
But there were some better things that happened in 2007 also. Viper and I opened ourselves for more and new inspirations, in different types of creative art. Street Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, etc. It helped us in both our ways of working, as in having new ideas for DE. I'm pretty much happy to say that then we realized that DE could be just more than just another young folks website.
2008
We are finally getting somewhere! I've been talking allot about what i'm busy building on. Many curious and enthusiastic folks are interested in what DE will have to offer them, and others. It was also this year that we confirmed our type of audience for DE: Everyone, but especially creative-laid-back-fellow-youngsters like us!
This year has also been an extra eye opener to both Viper and I. After reading the story of indie entrepreneur John Earle (AKA Johnny Cupcakes), we really felt like even we, can achieve everything, no matter how high or how hard the road may be, it's the strong ones that win the battle to victory. We both agreed that THIS year, 2008, we would breath life within Douglas Elemex, and make our wildest dreams come to past.

One thing we are happy about, is the startup of our online shop, Douglas Elemex® Shop. We will be selling original artworks, accessories, comics and even clothing (under the brand name of SoldierSheep Wear). Just to make it easier for folks to buy our products, we use the Paypal system on our shop.

So far now, there are many who are interested in our first t-shirt, which has SoldierSheep on it, on a black t-shirt. Surprisingly, even without bringing it so far to even offer it, both my niece and her boyfriend already bought a shirt, an instant WIN and profit for more DE merchandise in the near future!
Impatient as I can be sometimes, I already did some promoting (and still do) everywhere I go, with both the stickers, as my own SoldierSheep shirt, having many people asking me if I really made it myself. Many like it, but most of them LOVE it! I just couldnt wait to start selling them, but as a limited edition!
We, here in DE, hope to reach out to as much people as possible, to both suprise and inspire them. Douglas Elemex is truly on it's way to become a striking force in the creative
youth movement.
